While we are talking about my 30th birthday, I would like to finish with my local Irish Pub and Restaurant. The gable dining scene was once meant for the office types, but now it's being heralded as the coolest era of food. If you need a tender scoop of beef in tomato sauce, you can't look further than their main course, beef stew ($12).
Iimi's savoury bowl of ramen is filled with everything you could wish for: noodles made with a state-of-the-art pasta machine, soaked in a rich broth. The summer ramen, served chilled, is the perfect pasta dish for tropical climates. If so, you have a soul - a satisfying mix of rice noodles topped with potato foam and truffle oil. It's a steamed bowl, and it's universally satisfying, whether you fancy steaming noodle bowls or a hot and spicy soup of chicken or beef.
The menu changes daily, so check with the store to see if opening hours are available at their Coral Gables store. Pascal Oudin is known for his poached fish, but also for other chefs "obsessions with foam and 64-degree eggs. On any given day, there's tomato and tomato soup or braised ribs.
